A Princess Never Chases a Chicken!
There's a scene in The Princess Diaries that I think about far too often for a grown
woman. A chicken gets loose and goes absolutely amok through the throne room, and Mia takes off after it. Arms out, hair everywhere, no dignity left, feathers flying past the royal furniture while the Queen watches on. And then comes the line. A princess never chases a chicken.
Stay with me, because this is about your homeschool.
🐓 The chase
So many of us are out there chasing chickens. We're chasing the curriculum that one mum in the Facebook group swears by, and the rhythm from that beautiful account with the linen and the sourdough and the nature table that never seems to have playdough ground into it. We're chasing printables at 10pm and the next unit study, chasing a version of homeschooling that lives entirely on someone else's highlight reel. And no matter how fast we run, it stays two steps ahead. Feathers everywhere. Dignity long gone. Meanwhile our actual children, our real, wonderful, playdough-grinding children, are watching their mum sprint past them after something that isn't even in the room.
🫴 You will never catch it
And that has nothing to do with you not being enough. It's that a curated Instagram homeschool was never a real thing you could hold in the first place. It's a highlight reel with the hard mornings cut out and the mess just off camera. It's a chicken. It was always going to stay just out of reach, and every lap of the throne room costs you energy that belongs to your family.
🫵 What if it came to you?
So here's my question. What if you stopped chasing? Better than that, what if it came to you? That's exactly what we built. Wonder & Wild doesn't ask you to hunt anything down. It arrives. A complete homeschool that comes to your table with every subject mapped in full sequence, the lessons written, the resources ready, and the projects genuinely easy to run. There's training for you and assessments when you want them. You don't chase it through forty tabs. You open the portal and it's simply there, waiting, like it knew you were coming.
And I'll call a spade a spade
Because I've watched what happens to our families. Our Wonder & Wild parents have stopped chasing chickens altogether. They're too busy smashing their way through homeschooling to even notice what the outside world is doing, because they're not sitting in the negative Facebook groups anymore. They're in our private parents community instead, surrounded by likeminded friends who cheer for their kids rather than compare them.
Different room, different air, completely different mum.
💪 Come inside
A princess never chases a chicken, mumma. She lets it come to her. The free Wonder & Wild Sampler gives you a real look at what simply ready feels like. Open it tonight, after the kids are down.
Feel the difference between chasing and receiving.
